In October 1988, one Hari Sahai was beaten to death by Rikahi, Salkaran, Dayaram, Rajman, Sunder, Jagdish, Kailash, Bhagwan, Satydeo Singh, Rajendra Singh, Aniruddh Singh and Subhash in Newada village in Kaptanganj area, prosecution sources said here.
The accused also opened fire with a country-made fire arm in which one Deepchand was injured, they said.
While police filed chargesheet against Dayaram and Subhash, chargesheet against the rest was filed by CB-CID, sources said.
On the basis of evidences additional district and sessions judge Liyaqat Ali held Dayaram and Subhash guilty and acquitted nine others for lack of evidence.
An accused Rikahi died during trial.
