Uttarakhand police today busted an inter-state gang of electricity cable thieves with the arrest of six of its members here and recovered 15 kg cables worth nearly Rs 2.5 lakh from them.
The six accused wanted in connection with power cable thefts in Uttarakhand and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh were arrested from Haridwar at the instance of a scrap dealer in New Delhi's Seelampur area, a press release from the police here said.
15 kg of electricity cable worth nearly Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered from the accused which they had stolen from a power sub-station in Pathri by holding its staff hostage on January three, it said.
