Showcasing the UK's world-class engineering and innovation expertise through their work, a team of UK varsity shed light on the famous supersonic car designed to travel at 1,000 mph at a festival in Doha.
Bloodhound SSC is a jet and rocket powered car designed to travel at 1,000 mph (just over 1,600 kph).
Weighing over 7 tonnes with engines of over 135,000 horsepower - more than 6 times the power of all the Formula 1 cars on a starting grid combined - the car is a hybrid of automotive and aircraft technology.

The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) team displayed a 2m scale model of the car to invited students from a number of schools in Qatar, who attended a lecture about the ground-breaking project.
The lecture explored the challenges the team had encountered and overcome so far and shared some of the ways UWE Bristol students had participated in Bloodhound SSC whilst studying.
