Ultratech Cement's shares today rose by almost 3 per cent after the company reported 37 per cent growth in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December, 2015.
The stock gained 2.74 per cent to settle at Rs 2,697.10 on BSE. During the day, it climbed 3.45 per cent to Rs 2,716.
At NSE, shares of the company settled at Rs 2,695.05, up 2.95 per cent.
Ultratech Cement yesterday reported a 37 per cent growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 545.92 crore for the quarter ended December 2015 on lower operating costs and higher sales.
The firm, part of the Aditya Birla Group, clocked net profit of Rs 400 crore in the year-ago period, it had said in a regulatory filing.
Total income of the company rose by 4 per cent to Rs 6,187.91 crore in the October-December quarter this fiscal from Rs 5,944.47 crore during the same quarter last fiscal.
