Unclaimed bag creates security stir at India Gate

Security agencies were sent into a tizzy as an unclaimed bag was found in the vicinity of India Gate here today, police said.

However, it soon turned out to be a false alarm after the owner of the bag, who had left the bag there by mistake, returned to claim it.

"The incident happened at around 12 noon when a call was received about the unclaimed bag. A PCR van, bomb disposal squad and other teams rushed to the spot and the area was cordoned off," a senior police officer said.

Nothing suspicious was found in the bag.
