Unidentified persons throw acid on physically challenged man

A physically challenged man suffered burn injuries when two unidentified persons threw acid on him at northeast Delhi's New Usmanpur area today, police said.

The victim, identified as Firoz Khan, is a resident of Seelampur area who had come to the market at Usmanpur when the incident took place. He was rushed to GTB Hospital and admitted with 30 per cent burn injuries, said a police officer.

According to the police, Khan was sitting on his tricycle near a cobbler's shop when two unidentified persons, with their face covered with black clothes, came from behind and threw acid on him.
 

The police registered a case under Section of 326A (punishment for acid throwing) of IPC, the official added.
