The opposition Congress today held demonstrations in many districts of Uttar Pradesh over issues pertaining to farmers, unemployed youths, traders and labourers.
Arun Prakash Singh, general secretary of UP Congress, said many party workers also courted arrest.
Addressing Congress workers at party office here, in- charge of Jan Aandolan Samiti, Swayam Prakash Goswami said, "Congress will continue to raise issues pertaining to famers, youngsters, women, dalits, backwards amd minorities. We will definitely not get shaken or distracted by the BJP."

The party workers also took out a protest march from party headquarters to the GPO Park.
The party is organising various programmes at all district headquarters of the state on the occasion of 75 years of Quit India Movement.
