UP: Minor girl raped in Mau district

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in Kopaganj area of Mau district, police said today.

The incident is alleged to have taken place last night when the girl was alone in her house. The 22-year-old man barged into her house and raped her, DSP Shivaji Shukla said.

The neighbours came to the girl's help after hearing her cried and got hold of the accused, he said.

Police was informed and the man was arrested. Investigation is underway, Shukla said.
