The Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Parishad today passed the supplementary grants for financial year 2014-15 by voice vote amidst walkout by BSP members.
With a size of Rs 14,856.14 crore, the grants, which had already been passed by the Vidhan Sabha, were passed by the Upper House by voice vote after a debate.
During the debate, Leader of Opposition and BSP member Naseemuddin Siddiqui alleged that while the government has brought supplementary grants, there are several departments, which have not utilised even eight per cent of the funds allocated in the Budget.

He said the Urban Development department spent only 16 per cent of its actual allocation in the Budget.
Siddiqui alleged that promises of providing battery-operated and solar-powered rickshaws is nothing more than a farce.
Leader of BJPLP Hriday Narain Dixit alleged that neither the funds allocated in the Budget were properly utilised nor in a time bound manner.
While, Congress member Naseeb Pathan alleged that basic necessities were not taken into consideration in the supplementary grants.
