A 22-year-old woman suffered 60 per cent burn injuries after her husband and in-laws allegedly threw acid on her in Aliganj, police said today.
In a police complaint, the woman's family has alleged that her husband, Gopal, and his family members were harassing her for dowry.
The woman had been staying at her parents' home after her in-laws allegedly forced her out of their house, police said.
Gopal and three of his family member yesterday visited her at her parents house in Aliganj and attacked her with acid, they said.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors said she sustained 60 per cent burn injuries.
An FIR has been registered against Gopal, his father Radha Krishan, motherSharda Devi and brother Hargovind. No arrest has been made so far, police said.
