Restricted supplies from producing regions support uptrend

Uptick in demand lifts mentha oil by 0.23%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices were up 0.23 per cent to Rs 903.50 per kg in the futures market today, amid pick up in domestic demand at spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month January 2016 rose Rs 2.10, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 903.50 per kg in a business turnover of 15 lots.

The December contract edged up by Rs 1.60, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 891.20 per kg in 171 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants and pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against limited supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly attributed rise in mentha oil prices at the futures trade.
