"Western world created the most polluting model of urbanisation. The concept of sustainable development comes from the eastern part of the world.

"In India, the process of urbanisation has just began. India's process of urbanisation has to be the extremely innovative and sustainable. We should not repeat mistakes of western world," he said.

Kant pointed out that in every minute, 30 Indians move from rural areas to urban areas.

The Niti Aayog CEO also noted that the world is looking for the sustainable products and willing to pay higher price for sustainable products, so India will be spearheading renewable energy.
