Verma, Kudaravalli lose in Taipei

Young Indian shuttlers Siril Verma and Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli went down fighting in the pre-quarterfinals of the Chinese Taipei Grand Prix Gold here today.

Kudaravalli lost to local player Shuo Sun Yung 20-22, 13 -21 in the women's singles second round.

It was a minor upset in the men's singles when 16th seed Verma went down against Malaysian Lee Zii Jia 12-21, 16-21 in a match lasting 28 minutes.
