Vikram Malhotra in last eight of Costa Rica Open

: India's Vikram Malhotra, seeded fifth, beat qualifier David Bailargeon of Canada to enter the quarterfinal of the Costa Rica Open, a PSA World Tour event, being held at San Jose.

Malhotra posted a 11-3, 11-7, 11-8 win in a match played late on Wednesday.

The US-based Malhotra, who had won his 5th PSA title in Abu Dhabi last month, will meet the 4th seed Alfredo Avila of Mexico next, according to a SRFI press release here today.
