A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 20,000.
N Venkata Ramana, VRO of Chittiboinapalli in Gurramkonda Mandal of Chittoor, was caught red-handed by the ACB officials late last night at his office when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 20,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour, an ACB release said here today.
After recovery of the amount, Venkata Ramana was arrested.
Further investigation in the case was on, the release added.
