Villagers protest shooting of 2 at Thinghlum

Mamit district SP Rodingliana Chawngthu said that the injured persons were admitted at a hospital in Kawrthah village and the violence was triggered allegedly by some residents of Kolalian, who were 'stealing paan' from the orchard of villagers of Thinghlun.

A leader of Bru-dominated village of Kolalian alleged to PTI over phone that two villagers were shot at and injured by some people without any provocation yesterday.

Those who participated in the procession demanded that no one from other villages should be allowed to have 'jhum' in the Kolalian area.
