Vineet Punia appointed Cong media dept secretary

The Congress today appointed Vineet Punia as the secretary of the party's media department, after the approval of vice president Rahul Gandhi.

According to a statement by Congress communications in-charge Randeep Surjewala, Anil Chaudhary was relieved of his responsibilities as the national media coordinator.

Punia replaces S V Ramani who was holding the post for quite some time now, he said.

The Congress had earlier revved up its media department by appointing six media coordinators and joint coordinators.
