A man, wanted in connection with several criminal cases, was arrested with four kg charas here, police said today.
Acting on an information from the special section port division (SSPD), Kolkata Police sleuths arrested Joy Prakash (36) from the Chandpal Ghat area last night, a senior police officer said.
Police was looking for Prakash, a resident of Howrah's Nischinda, who was wanted in connection with several criminal cases.
"We recovered around four kg charas from his possession for which he had failed to give any satisfactory reply," the officer said adding that the accused would be prosecuted under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
