West Bengal Finance minister Amit Mitra today said that his trip to Las Vegas in 2012 to attend the North American Bengali Conference sponsored by the Saradha Group, was paid by the state exchequer and not by any other entity.
Mitra told the assembly that the estimated cost of the trip to the US city was Rs two crore.
He was replying to Leader of the Opposition Surya Kant Mishra belonging to the CPI(M) who wanted to know whether the cost of the trip was borne by the Saradha Group.
