WCL racks up 9 pc growth in production in 2015-16

Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) registered a 9 per cent growth in coal production in 2015-16, the highest in recent times.
WCL has registered a coal production of 44.82 mt with an absolute growth of 8.9 per cent in 2015-16 over last year's 41.15 mt.
The company, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), continuously registered a negative growth for the last five years till 2013-14 and made a turnaround for the first time with 3.4 per cent growth in 2014-15.

WCL has recorded highest composite production volume of about 184 MCum with 23.16 per cent during 2015-16, a company release said today.
The company has been a standout performer in coal off-take with 2.6 per cent growth over last year's.
