Press Trust of India New Delhi
Wheat futures traded lower by 0.80 per cent to Rs 1,740 per quintal in futures trading today as participants trimmed positions, triggered by ample stocks at spot market against low demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in July fell by Rs 14, or 0.80 per cent to Rs 1,740 per quintal with an open interest of 14,860 lots.

Similarly, wheat for delivery in far-month August traded lower by Rs 13, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 1,769 per quintal in 24,310 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in wheat futures to ample stocks on increased supplies from growing regions in the physical market against subdued demand.
