Wheat futures extend losses, shed 0.15%

Wheat prices eased further by 0.15 per cent to Rs 1,980 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators engaged in reducing their positions, triggered by ample stocks position at the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in January shed Rs 3, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 1,980 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,550 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants amid adequate stocks position in the physical market against subdued demand from flour mills, mainly kept wheat prices lower at futures trade.
