Press Trust of India New Delhi
Wheat prices were down by 0.23 per cent to Rs 1,723 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed position amid subdued demand from flour mills in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in September month traded lower by Rs 4, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 1,723 per quintal with an open interest of 19,520 lots.

However, the wheat for delivery in October contracts held steady at Rs 1,751 per quintal in 3,810 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants amid weak demand from flour mills in the physical market against sufficient stocks position, mainly influenced wheat prices at futures trade.
