Scores of relatives and friends of whistleblowers today sat on a dharna outside the BJP national office demanding that the party clarify its stand on the anti- graft Grievance Redressal and Whistleblowers Protection Bills.

The demonstrators were seeking an assurance from BJP that it would back the Bills when they were introduced in Parliament.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the BJP office on Ashoka Road and sat on a dharna. Police detained around 100 of the demonstrators who were later released.

Some protesters also demonstrated outside the Congress office.

"BK Hariprasad, an MP, spoke to us and promised that Congress would make every effort to push these Bills in Parliament," said a protester.
