Woman arrested for throwing acid on husband's face

A 24-year-old woman and her sister were arrested today for allegedly throwing acid on her husband's face.

Rubina attacked her husband Nasiruddin (22) along with her family members and threw acid on him on Sunday afternoon in East Delhi's Gokalpuri area, according to police.

Rubina and her sister Chando (22) have been arrested in this connection, they said.

Nasiruddin and Rubina were married about three months back. This was Rubina's second marriage and she has a five-year-old girl child with her first husband. The girl stayed with Rubina and Nasiruddin at their residence.

On August 7 night, the couple had a heated argument after which in a fit of rage, Nasiruddin went to his mother's house in Loni and celebrated Eid there.
 

Later, on Saturday, Rubina and Chando met Nasiruddin, apologised and convinced him to come at their house in Gokulpuri.

"Once he reached Rubina's place, she along with her family members overpowered Nasiruddin and threw acid on his face.

"The woman and her younger sister have been arrested in the case," said a police official.

The man has been taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.

Efforts are on to nab other family member's of the woman, police said.
