A woman peddler was today arrested and 15 kg poppy husk seized from her near here, police said.
The peddler, identified as Surjit Kaur, belonging to the Dharamkot mohalla was arrested on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road, they said.
A police team was on patrol duty on a road at the backside of Dharamkot mohalla when they spotted the woman and upon searching her bag, seized the poppy husk, police said.
The arrest was made under relevant Sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, they added.
