Woman attempts suicide after killing three-year-old son

A 37-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide after killing her three-year-old son in Vishnapur village under Ikauna police station here, police said today.

Zarina killed her son Faizan by slitting his throat with a knife and attempted suicide with the same knife yesterday, they said.

The victim was mentally disturbed and was living with her parents from the last few days, police said, adding that she has been referred to Lucknow.
