Woman commit suicide over drinking habit of son

: Dejected over the drinking habit and harassment of her son, a 45-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in her house in Varadarajapuram in the city.

Kalamani was living with her son Rangasami (23), who used to trouble her for money for consuming liquor,police said.

Unable to bear the torture, she reportedly consumed poison last night and fell unconscious. Seeing this, Rangasamy also consumed the poison, they said.

Hearing their screams, some neighbours rushed them to the Government Hospital here, where the woman died early this morning. Rangasami is under treatment, police said.
