Woman commits suicide after enduring father's torture

A 22-year-old woman committed suicide after she was allegedly tortured by her father at Sadpura village in the district, police said today.

The woman's mother lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the her husband, Virendra, persistently harassed her daughter following which she commited suicide.

A case under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC was registered against Virendra and a probe has been launched into the matter, police said.
