Woman crushed to death as branch falls on car

A 30-year-old woman today died when a big branch of a roadside tree fell on the car in which she was travelling, in this tourist town.

Ilakkiya, hailing from Mettur in Salem district in the state, came here to visit her friend, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital for some disease, police said.

As Sathyaseelam, a constable and husband of the sick woman, was taking Ilakkiya to the hospital, the branch came crashing down on the car, crushing her to death, police said.
