Woman decamps with 32 sovereigns of gold ornaments

A case was today registered against a woman who allegedly made off with gold ornaments, weighing 32 sovereigns and valued at Rs 9.5 lakh, at a beauty parlour near here, police said.
Police said the woman had rented a room for the parlour which was opened yesterday. She had promised free 'facial' for the first five customers.
The woman had asked three women, who turned up, to remove their gold ornaments before applying the cream on their face, saying it could take ten minutes to dry besides asking them to keep their eyes closed.

When the three opened their eyes after sometime, they found their ornaments missing and lodged a complaint, police said.
A case under IPC section 420 (cheating) has been registered, police said.
