Woman dies 5 days after suicide bid

A married woman died in a hospital here five days after she allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in a suicide bid, police said today.

Anita Kumari, a resident of Paloura area on the outskirts of Jammu city, consumed some poisonous substance at her residence on September 21, they said.

She was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Jammu where she died yesterday, police said.

The body was handed over to her relatives after conducting post-mortem and other legal formalities, they said, adding a case has been registered and investigations were underway.
