Woman dies after drinking pesticide

A woman from Datterajeru mandal in the district who had consumed pesticide in an alleged suicide attempt on March 1 died last night at the King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.

P Naga Lakshmi (27), the deceased, was married to P Srinivas (35) eight years ago.

She was living at her parents' house with her children for the last three years because of harassment for dowry by the husband, Boorjavalasa police sub-inspector R Babu Rao said.

On March 1 she drank pesticide. Police have registered a case and further probe is on.
