A 50-year-old woman, who works as a peon in a municipal school, was arrested for allegedly duping a youth of Rs 1.43 lakh by promising him a job in East Delhi Muunicipal Corporation, police said today.

The arrested have been identified as Manjeet Kaur who had allegedly promised one Santosh Kumar, a resident of Kalkaji, that she will help him get a job as a peon in the civic body and demanded Rs 1.43 lakh.

"The complainant's father gave her the educational documents and money. After three months, a joining letter was given to Santosh by the accused. When he reached Seemapuri for joining, he was shocked to know that there was no such appointment," police said.
