Woman immolated by husband, in-laws for dowry

A 22-year-old woman was today set afire allegedly by her husband and in-laws for not meeting their dowry demands in Koirauna area here, a senior police officer said.

Sita Nishad was brought to hospital with serious burn injuries by local residents of Sitamarhi village where she succumbed to her wounds, Circle Officer Jitendra Dubey said.

He said that Sita's father Lala Ram has lodged an FIR against her husband Rajkumar and in-laws for dowry harassment and murder.
