A 70-year-old woman was today killed and another injured when their motorbike was hit by a speeding car in the Krishna district, police said.
The mishap occurred on National Highway 16 at Ampapuram village when the two were heading home after visiting a Church, Sub-Inspector D Murali Krishna of Viravalli police said.
The deceased has been identified as Y Sitamaha Laxmi (70) and the injured was admitted to a government hospital, he said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered in this regard and investigations are underway, police said.
