Woman offered spiked drink, raped

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped after being offered a spiked drink by an acquaintance in southeast Delhi's New Friends Colony area, police said today.

The victim, who worked as a maid in that area, was in touch with Jagbir Chaudhury over the last few months, who promised her a job, they said.

Yesterday, Jagbir took her for a drive and reportedly offered her a spiked drink. As she started feeling dizzy, the accused took her to a lodge near Jasola Apollo area and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The woman has filed a complaint in this connection and an FIR under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC has been lodged, a senior police officer said.
