Woman passenger loses jewels onboard train

A 65-year-old woman allegedly lost her bag containing 40 sovereigns of gold ornaments while travelling from Chennai to Alappuzha by a train, police said today.

In her complaint lodged with the police, the woman said she was returning from Chennai by the Chennai-Alleppey Express after attending a marriage and had kept the bag by her side while sleeping last night.

When the woman woke up during the wee hours, she found the bag missing and lodged a complaint with police who are investigating the case.
