Press Trust of India Kolkata
A woman was allegedly robbed of valuables and cash including her voter identity and PAN cards by unknown miscreants while travelling in an autorickshaw from Park Circus area of the city, police said today.

The incident happened last night at around 10 PM when Howrah-resident Sudipta Banerjee (30) was travelling in an autorickshaw from Park Circus to Girish Park's Dwarkanth Tagore Lane, police said.

"The woman hired the autorickshaw for Girish Park at around 9.30PM yesterday. She alleged that at one point the driver of the autorickshaw requested her to allow three more passengers who will get down within a short distance. And when the woman got down at her destination she found that her valuables were missing," a senior officer said.

The woman in her complaint lodged at the Girish Park Police Station alleged that she has been "robbed" of her gold neck chain fitted with pendant weighing about 10 gms and Rs 5,500 in cash, one mobile phone and one bagful of garments, pan card, voter identity card and two ATM cards.

"We are looking into the CCTV footages on the roads and trying to establish what had actually happened and probing the matter," the officer said.
