A highly decomposed body of a 25-year-old woman was found from a pond in Roladih village, under Kowali police station today, police said.
The body, which was yet to be identified, had grievous injury marks on her face, said the Officer-in-charge of the police station, J Ram.
The victim, which appeared to be a married, was not a local resident and it was being suspected that the woman was murdered somewhere else and the body was dumped in the pond, Ram said.
Police also recovered a bag containing her clothes and cosmetic item from the pond.
Suspecting that the body was dumped about four days ago, Ram said no one has lodged any missing report in the police station during the period.
The body has been sent for post-mortem in M G M Hospital, he added.
