Woman succumbs to bullet injuries

Police said Kariyappa had shot his wife 25-year-old wife on January eight after a quarrel as he was upset that she could not bear him a child even after four years of marriage.

The injured, who was shifted from a hospital in Sira to Bangalore, died today, police said.

The victim's parents alleged Kariyappa and his family members subjected their daughter to torture ever since the marriage.

Kariyappa has been arrested, police said.
