A 21-year-old woman Wednesday accused a director and theatre personality of asking trainees attending a drama workshop to remove their clothes during a class following which a case was registered, police said.
The director, who is also trainer of actors and conducts acting workshops at the theatre group-cum-acting school here, has refuted the allegations, saying it is part of the act/drama which the students are to perform, an Investigating official said.
Talking to reporters here, she alleged that on April 15, the theatre personality, who also heads the theatre group, asked the students attending the workshop "to remove their clothes."
The director told them if they did not, they could walk out and need out come for classes again, she claimed.
"As I did not feel comfortable, I came out of the class and later lodged a complaint with police," the woman said.
A case under IPC section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) has been registered.
