Women Congress workers today conducted a raid at Borij village near Gandhinagar city and claimed to have found a large quantity of country-made liquor being made in the river bed.
The "janata raid" at Borij village was led by president of Gujarat Congress' women wing Sonal Patel and Congress MLA from Dehgam Kaminiba Rathod, a release by the party said.
The workers found more than 100 barrels of country-made liquor and a small godown to store the raw material in the river bed, it said.

Rathod alleged that when they informed the local police about the recovery of hooch, police asked them to leave the place.
However, even as Congress claimed that they busted a liquor den just one km away from the state capital, police claimed that the barrels contained only rain water.
"On reaching there, we found only some barrels lying unclaimed. They were filled with rain water, not hooch," claimed Y M Mishra, police inspector of Gandhinagar taluka.
Earlier, Gujarat Congress President Bharatsinh Solanki had announced that such raids would be conducted across the state to expose illegal liquor dens flourishing in the state, it said.
Congress has been accusing the police of shielding such elements.
After today's raid, women Congress workers handed over a memorandum to Gandhinagar collector to strictly implement the law prohibiting sale and consumption of liquor in the state.
Congress also announced to continue conducting such raids in future, the release said.
