The women who cast the vote in the Thane city in yesterday's Maharashtra Assembly elections outnumbered the men, according to the figures released by the district election office this evening.
Of the voters who exercised their franchise, 54.56 were women.
A total of 50.61 percent voting was recorded in 18 assembly segments in the district. Ambernath and Ulhasnagar recorded less than 40 percent voting.
