Worker dies as lorry tyres bursts while filling air

In a freak incident, a 30-year old vulcanising shop worker died of suspected shock today when a lorry tyre burst while he was filling air in it, police said here.

Hariharan was filling air in the tube of the tyre after repairing a puncture when the mishap occurred, they said.

As the tube and tyre suddenly burst, Hariharan was thrown off some distance away under the impact of the blast and died on the spot, they added.

Police said they suspect the worker might have suffered a cardiac arrest as the tyre burst suddenly with loud sound.
