Yadav hits ton to give Mumbai upper hand

Mumbai held a slight advantage against Railways at stumps on day two after a gritty 110 from Suryakumar Yadav in the Ranji Trophy Group A match here today.

Mumbai, resuming at an overnight 244 for five, went on to score 345 courtesy Yadav, who started the day on 60.

Captain and leggie Karn Sharma led from the front for Railways, adding two wickets to his overnight tally to complete a five-wicket haul.

Railways felt the heat in their first innings. They lost their three top-order batsmen to end the day at 76 for three in 45 overs.

The star of the day was Yadav, who collected 11 fours and a six in his 270-ball effort.
 

Yesterday, Mumbai opener Akhil Herwadkar had missed out on a century by four runs.

Brief scores: Mumbai 345 in 133.2 overs (Yadav 110; Karn Sharma 5/81). Railways 76/3 in 45 overs (Bhille 15 batting, Ghosh batting 6; Gohil 2/25).
