Yoga helped me in performing well: Pujara

Press Trust of India Chandigarh
India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara today revealed that yoga and meditation have not only helped him maintain a healthy lifestyle but also perform well on the field.

"It's always up to an individual what he/she prefers to do. Everybody has a different preparation. I don't do all the yogas, but just to keep myself healthy. I do some exercises and the pranayams," 26-year-old said here during a media interaction.

Pujara, who currently playing for Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing Indian Premier League, says although he does not do yoga daily, he has made it a point to incorporate it in his life to stay healthy.

"I am a bit lazy about doing it every single day, but I try to make sure that I do it at least four times a week and that gives me best opportunity to stay healthy and perform on the field," he said.

On meditation, he said, "I do my prayers every single day and that's a part of my life. It is not something I do to get better on cricketing field. That's my routine. I try to devote at least 15-20 minutes a day," he said.
