A youth was arrested today for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl at Ranajhali in Odisha's Ganjam district.
The girl, a student of class III, was going to her grandfather's house yesterday when the accused lured her to a house by showing some pictures on his mobile phone and raped her.
The accused was arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by the girl's mother, said the inspector in-charge of Purushottampur, Bijay Kumar Sahu.
Both the accused and the girl were sent for medical examination at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, he said.
