A 20-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Chambal river in Kunhadi area, police said today.
The body of Rohit Jain, resident of Swaimadhopur district, was fished out this morning and handed over to the family members after post mortem examination, Assistant sub inspector (ASI) Kaluram said.
Rohit allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Chambal from the High bridge yesterday. A rescue team of Kota Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation) and police began a search operation that lasted till late last evening, but the body was recovered from deep water near the bridge this morning, the ASI said.
Rohit was staying with his maternal uncle in Kota, he said, adding further probe into the matter is on to ascertain the reason for him to take the extreme step.
