An 18-year-old youth, drowned while bathing in the sea off Thalassery in Kannur district, police said today.
The incident occurred when M V Ashwin, hailing from Waynad district had gone to the beach here with his friends last evening.
The teenager drowned while taking bath in the sea, police said.
Later, the fire and rescue services personnel fished out the body.
